OakFire (Midpines, Mariposa Co) - Additions: 2 mile spot fires early on. Some minor injuries, nothing major - they praised people for evacuating. Damage inspection team arrived yesterday & hope to have info out tomorrow - the 2 person team was out there today gathering data
OakFire (Midpines, Mariposa Co) - Still very active @ the northern end of fire. FergusonFire burn scar will slow it down & It's giving them time to get line in there. Fire is burning already in that scar so it's not stopping it completely, work still has to be done
OakFire (Midpines, Mariposa Co) - Still doing a lot of structure defense in Lushmeadows & fire remains established in Snow Creek. They wanted to hold Footman Ridge, lots of resources are in there & are in a hard fought battle on the eastern side of the fire
OakFire (Midpines, Mariposa Co) - From the community meeting: 15,603 acres, 0% contained. Day 1: within 3-4 hours it had moved from Hwy 140/Carstens to Carter Rd & Triangle Rd. Couldn't attack with resources on hand, had to protect a large number of structures instead

2 year agoOakFire (Midpines, Mariposa Co) - View of all the activity on the north end of the fire, this cam faces due east towards Midpines. Tankers worked here earlier. Should also mention the BriceburgFire (cyan) from 2019 is also to the north & burned into the Ferguson (right side)
2 year agoOakFire (Midpines, Mariposa Co) - Addl resources being ordered up to the Jerseydale USFS station, having issues in that area with fire up against fresh dozer lines & spot fires, may be impacting structures hard shortly. Do have resources on Jerseydale from the station to Best Rd
