2 year agoMOSQUITO FIRE Homes by the historic Last Chance Trail on Michigan Bluff Road are still standing , but a quarter mile down the road many structures and homes are destroyed by the fire

MosquitoFire - Quintette: they've called the piece of line directly north of there stopped, now contained, no growth of fire towards Quintette. The line N/W of there towards Volcanoville hasn't moved, but it is still hot in there & not quite ready to call that piece contained
MosquitoFire - Volcanoville: the fire along Volcanoville Rd has been called contained & they don't anticipate anymore movement to the south. Buckeye Point: dozer line in there, crews too, down to the river. Working to stop westerly progress there on that south side of river
MosquitoFire - The N/E corner of the fire made a pretty good run towards Westville between Foresthill Rd & Deadwood Rd, crews are trying to get ahead of that. Looking for ways to build fire line, get across & around drainages to build primarily indirect line on the eastern side
MosquitoFire - The fire continues to progress to the east all the way across that side of the fire. The fire hasn't progressed to the S/E in the Stumpy Meadows area in the last 12-24 hours, trying to figure out how to get some line in there & hold it

2 year agoMountainFire (S/W of Gazelle, Siskiyou Co) - The fire is now making a significant run south towards Mallethead Rock per radio traffic - which is basically the original area where the fire first went across control lines today
